Pakistan is set to enhance its internet speed as a 45,000 km long advanced internet cable from Africa connects to the country today. IT experts highlight its massive capacity of 180 terabits per second, significantly improving internet services, including social media apps.




Recently, IT Minister Shaza Fatima acknowledged the country's lagging internet speed. Criticism from coalition partner PPP added pressure, with Shazia Marri questioning the feasibility of the Digital Nation Bill given the current internet constraints. This development aims to address these longstanding concerns.
