According to national news agencies, Jimmy Carter breathed his last on Sunday afternoon at his home in Georgia. He was 100 years old.

Jimmy Carter, a peanut farmer from Georgia, served as the 39th President of the United States. A member of the Democratic Party, he held office from 1977 to 1981

A Glimpse Into Jimmy Carter’s Life

Jimmy Carter was born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia. He spent his early years in the nearby town of Archery before graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1946.

After completing his education, Carter joined the U.S. Navy and served on a submarine. Following his retirement from the Navy, he turned to politics.

He won a seat in Georgia’s state legislature and later became the Governor of Georgia in 1971.

In December 1974, Carter announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections, and in 1976, he won, becoming the President of the United States.
