Users will no longer need to buy a separate charger for different devices, as all new devices will now charge using USB-C chargers.

Users Won't Need a New Charger for Different Devices Anymore

According to reports, in all 27 countries of the European Union, new smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones, speakers, and keyboards will use a single type of charger.

As per a report from an international news agency, manufacturers will be required to ensure that all new devices are compatible with USB-C chargers.

The European Union approved the "one charger" law in 2022, and it officially came into effect on Saturday, December 28.

This decision is expected to save consumers $208 million annually and reduce global electronic waste by 1,000 tons per year.
